So I finally got a Smartphone

I went and picked up the Blackberry Curve 8330
I honestly have no clue what it has on it, or what it can do, other than the fact that I can now actually check my emails and stuff from it and stuff. I am looking for a better job, so emailing capability was the only thing I was looking for.

Just messing around with it right now, trying to see what else it has to offer.

What color did you get? Unlimited data plan?

SO you setup your email to be pushed to the phone? cool.. thats a good start.

You need to upgrade to OS 4.5, download the blackberry 9000 theme package, download opera mini web browser, download google maps, download microsoft live search, and get empower (to read HTML emails)

I will point you to the links if you want. Also, you need to download the desktop manager if you havent yet. Its used to backup the phone and install apps.


I also suggest you sign up @ http://www.blackberryforums.com/

The 8330 has GPS, but lacks wifi. I have the 8320 thru tmobile which has wifi, but no GPS (google maps takes care of that).

I've already downloaded the desktop manager and have hooked the phone up to back it up...
I will check out the OS and the other apps that you've recommended.

I am pretty stoked at this purchase, and was pleasently suprised to find out how far the price of data plans had dropped since my last phone upgrade.

good point milk, i will step it up next time. i figured he would poke around his providers website and find what he needed. i will do a little more legwork next time
