I just bought a sangean shortwave radio and was wondering if anybody knows of any worthwhile shows to listen to and what frequency to tune to.

It's tough.  It works best at night, and unless you've got high power, US shortwave is just real sketchy.  The best thing to do is to get online and find programming charts.

DXing is fun, but if you're not in a place that has anything good, you might be out of luck.
