Don't sleep on the CAA

The Colonial Athletic Association has a couple sleepers that are going to stun a few people when the regionals come around.

Old Dominion is 26-3, having beaten Virginia in Charlottesville, taking 2 of 3 from Rutgers, and beating Maryland recently. They'll sneak into the top 25 later this week, and continue to rise as they blow through conference play. Theyve won 20 straight, and if they sweep JMU, it could be a long run before they lose again. While not known as a power hitting team, the Monarchs have three batters over the .400 mark. They pitch well and play great defense, as their top pitcher is 7-0 with a 1.32 ERA. If they get seeded with some weak contact hitting teams in the regionals, it could be a smooth ride to the CWS.

James Madison is 19-7. Theyve been cruising since being swept in their first three games of the season by then #1 ranked Clemson.  Their top hitter is batting .510 with 15 HR and 47 RBI. Thier best pitcher is 7-1 with 75 Ks in 45 innings. They will make some noise when the tourneys begin.

The rest of the league is solid, with more than half the league above .500 going into conference play.  Seeing how most teams are playing out of conference games with programs in the larger conferences, to be above .500 shows that you have a decent club.
