Im not a padre fan but I gotta bitch, Ramon Hernandez is leading call catchers in the majors in stats, however hes only 5th on the catchers list for all star voting in the NL, most people that vote in all star ballots need to be shot. Jesus Nomar at short? Griffey in the outfield? People are socially retarded

Dustin:

You've got to put David "Manny"  Ortiz (BOS) on the AL list for DH. He's hitting .300 (.407 in the last week) with 12 HR's and 40 RBI. And of course he did hit a mammoth home run off Pavano last year.  ;D

This is why you shouldn't have fans voting for the starters.  The coaches and media should pick them, let the fans fill the rest of the ranks.  Orlando Hudson is by far one of the best second basemen in the game today, but he never goes to the game because of the fan vote.

Oh I don't know why Hudson isn't getting votes.? Maybe because there seems to be an MVP calibur second baseman named Brian Roberts who's blowing past Hudson in all catergories

Sev, I understand that Toronto players are often overlooked because of the market they play in, and because of the team without much superstar representation.  But I think in this case you're drinking some myopic Candian Kool-Aid with your pick.  Orlando Hudson is batting .260 with 3 HR and 24 RBI, nothing to really write home about.  I can't see any justification of putting him as the starting 2B when you have Brian Roberts tearing it up for the Orioles and Alfonso Soriano of the Rangers performing well too.

Sorry Sev, but I feel it is my duty as a Stucknut member to go Whitey and drop the proverbial hammer on you for that last take.

Yeah really, I know there aren't a lot of great NL shortstops right now, but is that really the best ppl can do?  If Renteria had stayed in St. Louis, he'd be running away with this bitch.

well last time I checked Cesar Izturis and David Eckstein are doing pretty damn good, in my opinion they should be all stars at SS

Izturis and Eckstein?? Come on Jeff,? Felipe Lopez is a much better shortstop even though both Izturis and Eckstein have good batting averages.? Lopez is doing decent with a .306 average with 8 home runs, 26 rbis with a SLG average of .544.  He also has 14 doubles

Cesar Izturis only has 1 fvckIN home run, even Jason Giambi has more home runs than him. then he has only 20 rbis and has a SLG average of .348 and 11 doubles so he's not close to Lopez's stats even though you can make an arguement for him with his 2 triples and 63 singles

Eckstein only has 2 fvckIN home runs (Even Giambi has more than that) and 18 rbis with a SLG average of .358, 8 doubles and 3 triples

Unless he gets into a major slump in June and Izturis and Eckstein get it going, Lopez will represent the Reds in the All Star game as the NL Shortstop (Sorry NoMAH fans)

I'll take that hammer.  I should have clarified that he's not doing so well this year, so it's understandable why he's not there.  But my point is that the fan vote is useless.

Not to be a homer, but Morgan Ensberg of the Astros should make it as a backup 3B.
