Maybe I'm way out of line here, but it seems as though "Israel from LA" may be a prime example of a paid caller. I remember when Irie Craig brought this topic up months ago ON AIR, and Rome completely blew past it/ignored it. That in turn meant  that there is no denying that Premier is paying people to call in. So I ask you fellow Stucknutters, if Rome is indeed resorting to paid actor/callers, who do you think is not real? Since 95% of the "new" callers to the show are absolutely terrible, I identify "Israel" as being prime subject #1.

I don't know if Premiere is paying actors to call in, but there have been several instances of Jungle callers being planted - two examples are TRodge as "Carl in Rosmeade" (allegedly ) and when JStew called in as "C.L. in SoCal" or something (allegedly ) with the Rudy Galindo is HIV-positive call. There are others that I can't think of at the moment.

The last two or three instances of callers self-glossing reeked of fake. I agree with Jeff in MD in that I don't think callers are paid, but they've definitely been planted a time or two.

Jim's said before that Stew will tell people to gloss themselves so they get run, as a trick.  He used to say that quite a bit in the old days.

You can see why callers would go ahead with JStew's trick since self-glossers end up getting some Jungle fame out of it. The self-glossers have stood out over the years, "Iceman," "Cloney Carter," "Big Horn," etc.
