How many times a game is a catcher left on base? Once? It took me literally 30 seconds to get gear on. Most catchers don't even take off their legs if they aren't due up. Chest protector on and a helmet, takes 10 seconds.

This. What a pain in the ass it is to take the legs and put them back on again, with all those stupid hooks and loops. No way those come off until you're in the on deck circle. There is more than enough time. Too many times in little league or high school that I got caught not paying attention and had to run out to home plate with half of the loops fixed and the other half of the shin pad flapping around and almost causing me to trip. I hate those things.

Completely against it.

Here's a totally original idea............ Axe the instant replay.

Current system absolutely needs to go, but they could make replay work if 1. they stop letting managers come out and wander around before deciding whether or not to challenge and 2. if the umps could review the play right at the stadium rather than having to call New York and wait for them to do it. Replay would take 30 seconds.

That would not take 30 seconds.

Not telling managers argue first would be nice.  Either challenge or don't, they don't get to talk first and then decide.

That if it is local then the ump has to walk to wherever you locate the monitor and likely watch it 2-3 times from different angles to determine and then come back and make the call.  This is still a couple of minutes to run.

I am not a fan of instant replay for the regular season.  Baseball plays enough games to where bad calls balance out and with so many teams getting in now that I don't see a few bad calls mattering.

Take a llesson  from Little League   these games are fun to watch because :
  1. It's only 7 innings
  2. No base stealing . I cringe when there's a baserunner on 1st base and the pitcher throws countless pick-off attempts AND the score is 7-0. Pitcher can go in a full wind-up everytime , runner stays on base til ball crosses plate.
  3. No extra-innings except play-offs
  4. 10 seconds between pitches

these games are unbearable to watch on tv......New generation don't give a shyt

7th inning stretch says it all  :police:

You got most of that wrong.

They play 6 not 7.

They can steal.

There is no pitch clock.

Yeah but the part I got right is these MLB games are unbearable to watch on TV compared to football and basketball .

Baseball is NOT America's Pastime anymore just like the Cowboys are not America's Team ....

The World's Series cannot bring in a larger viewer count then the 4th week game in the NFL.
