KB going rogue? A crack in the facade?
« on: October 21, 2014, 08:45:13 pm »
Ok, maybe not rogue, but on today's show, he was kinda poking fun at Rome's shtick...especially when J-Stew called.
Then at the end of the show he mentioned how he wanted to have his own radio show at some point.

he's definitely being groomed for a show.  he's been hinting around at that for a while.
perhaps he's romes replacement when he retires.

Who's KB, and why wouldn't Travis Rodgers, the show's longtime producer, take over if Rome retired?

I like KB, but he indulges himself way too much on the air, he needs to hold back a little more.

because they are the same age.

kb is youthful, full of energy, and brings a new element to the show.

I can say that I'm rarely bored at  any point during the shows that KB hosts.  He keeps things moving and doesn't get bogged down rehashing the same 1-2 topics all day. He also does very few interviews.
Those 2 things happen to be my biggest complaints with Rome - sometimes he'll do too many interviews in one day (say 4), and then he'll do 1-topic radio where he just rehashes the same topic all day for 3 hours. For  someone who takes great pride in not being lazy, 1-topic-radio is the laziest kind of radio.

Whew, OK.  I thought maybe Travis was being phased out of the show's plans or something.

Boom, shots fired... Truth is Travis Rodgers built the jungle, Kyle Brandt is just keeping it afloat. I listen to T-Rodge everyday on KLAA for a couple hours and wouldn't tune into any daily show hosted by KB if Rome retired.

Wait.  Travis Rodgers has his own show??  Where can I listen? Does he do this show before or after the 9am-12pm PST hours during which he produces the Jungle?

He has a show on AM830 in LA from like 6 - 9. Then he walks down the hall and produces the Rome Show
