Don't Buy Major Brand Foods
« on: October 27, 2014, 07:05:33 pm »
Just saying for a public service anouncement,, Do Not Buy Major Food Company Foods.

Don't buy any major brand foods.. General Mills, Nestle, Kraft... All  Full of Hydrogenation and High Fructose Corn Syrups.

These major brands trickle down to other brands like Keebler, or whatever..

Always read the Ingredient list.. If Hydrogenated, or High fructose Corn Syrup are in it, Put it back and look for an alternative.

 :koolaid

If its a Major National brand, its also likely to use GMO Corn and Soy..

If you want to eat Flinstone Fruity Pebbles for breakfast, thats fine.. I'm just suggesting people wake up and seek healthier alterntives ..

Every time they say something is bad for you, someone figures out that it might be good for you.

And vice versa.

You can't live on just fruity pebbles any more or less than you can live on just pomegranate.

I've walked down the grocery aisles.. I read all the ingredients... I should probably start a Blog about it..

Basically major commercial brands sell you Junk.. Store Brands are similar, because they try to be cheaper and more competetive.

I'm not saying spend a fortune on Organics either.. But anytime you pick up a major brand food product it will be loaded with bullshit.. Hydrogenated oils, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Dyes, and whatnot.. The first 3-5 ingredients are the key as they make up most of the product.

Remember, all mass produced commercial food should be viewed with Skepticism; and Read the Ingredients.. Theres probably a better
alternative from the health food isle or some other venue for what you want or crave.

Many of you know this, and I'm just adding a friendly reminder..  :)

Ask yourself this question though... The more processed and the more shit they add to the food, how is it Cheaper than stuff thats organic with nothing added??

How do you process something more, add more whatever, add extra advertising and packaging, AND still make it Cheaper than something that is raw and organic??

Its a good question I'm trying to figure out.. Although I think I have a pretty good explanation..

Organic requires more resources (water, land) to produce the same amount as non-organic.
Most of the added "junk" are preservatives, allowing brand x to stay in your pantry than a local or organic option.  The ingredient lists are misleading because it gives no idea whatsoever about the proportions.  If you go by just the FDA nutrition labels, then the recipe for Coca-Cola has been public since the early 90s.
It also comes down to efficiency and total output.

don't shop down the aisles.  the outer ring of a store is where meats, vegis, booze, deli. and breads are.  cook you own damn food.    oh and buy an extra can of soup for Justin when he hits you up for change when you are leaving the lot.

In which dumpster do you do your "outer ring" shopping?
