College Basketball
« on: January 29, 2015, 09:06:16 am »
I know a few of us care about college hoops.  This board is NBA dominated though.  Rather than try to start a few threads that will probably get 2 views and zero replies  :uhh, I thought I'd start just one college thread that might get 6 views and 2 replies.  :uhh

Post your takes here.  Whatever you got.

Does anyone think Kentucky will run the table? (My opinion: They can, but someone will probably get them in the SEC.  They play down to opponents)

Don't know much about it, but I know Calipari came extremely close to a perfect season in Memphis (Derek Rose year), so I hope he actually gets it done this time.

Duke is down to 8 scholarship players after they ran off Sulaimon.  He was one of the better defenders on a team that's not great defensively.  Dook is facing a small crisis...

Every team I hate is having a great year and Cuse is having the worst year in half a decade.

Eh, call me in November when the next season starts.

I really like the way this Tarheel team is progressing. Granted they don't have much perimeter shooting and that will hurt when they play more zone defenses like Syracuse. Other than that I am pretty happy with this team that didn't look too sharp at the beginning of the season.

This is the best year for D.C. area schools as a whole in years, with UMD, Georgetown, UVA, VCU and even GW having really good seasons, so there's hope here that at least one local team will make a long tourney run in March.

I don't see Kentucky going undefeated, especially playing an SEC schedule. Too many good teams who will be extra motivated to knock them off. As a college basketball fan it's hard to get motivated to tune in to a regular season game because it's the most meaningless of any college or professional sport. I only watched a few minutes of the Duke/UVA game on Saturday since the only thing on the line was bragging rights for one game. With 68 teams getting in seeds in March mean virtually nothing and the toughest/easiest brackets are pot luck on selection Sunday.

The only really interesting story line left is will KY run the table.

It would be lulz if they lost in the 2nd round or something but I don't think that will happen.
