Setting up VPN server.
« on: February 19, 2015, 08:04:01 pm »
I have a Dell Server behind a Comcast business class router running windows server 2008.

I installed the network sharing role and configured for VPN access.

If I'm on the network I can connect to VPN using the local IP address of the VPN server. So I know the VPN is properly set up but when I try to connect to the VPN using the public IP it doesn't work. I think there are some settings on the router I am missing. Do I have to forward certain ports to the server or unlock certain ports?

What am I missing? Any tips or tricks?

TIA

you'll probably have to set up port forwarding on the router to the IP of the server.

Control + Alt + Delete usually works for me.

Also, try unplugging the computer and/or kicking it.

I looked into VPN so I could access radio and podcast access blocked in Canada and it was a real pain in the ass and I just gave up. All I can say is, good luck Juse.

Just ask the Walmart manager to give you the wifi password since technically you are their employee working the H and R cubicle in the store :koolaid
