Give the Astros a few weeks, they will be in last place with a 7-15 record.

they're all beating up on each other. that doesn't really make for a shitty division.

They may strikeout a ton, but its limiting the double plays which is extending the inning for them.  A double play wipes two outs in one pitch whereas two strikeouts take at least 6 pitches.  Astros are nearly first in every offensive category and a ton of sabermetric categories in the 7th inning and later.  They are getting on base and stealing at a ridiculous clip. Their opponents dominant starters are getting a ton of Ks on them, but their pitch counts aren't allowing them to go more than 6 or 7 innings and that is when the Astros pounce...in the later innings.

Luhnow and his minions formula is working.  Case and point, George Springer never made contact in his 5 PAs the other night, but managed to score two runs and steal three bases from his three walks.  He turned two of his walks into doubles by swiping the bag the minute he got on.  Their BB rate is 2nd best in the league along with HRs.  And with that bullpen pretty much shutting down opponents in the 7th inning and on, it explains why their road trip was so successful.

It pretty much explains their 14-7 record in a nutshell.  It's genius.
Another great prediction from you know who...
12-4 record should = Division champs
