RTBD - Aerosmith
« on: April 17, 2015, 07:11:48 pm »
Argueably America's most influential rock band. They've had success for decades and were relevant in all 3 of the greatest eras in music...70's, 80's and 90's. They still sell out today and can out-perform artists who weren't even born yet as they celebrated their 30th birthday.

I'm personally a bigger fan of their earlier stuff. Seasons of Wither is one of the best songs written in the 70's.

influential, NO. creative, YES, and 100 fold at that. there is NO ONE that sounds like aerosmith. then or now. prolly has alot to do with tyler's voice. joe perry is VERY underated. many original hooks, yet they're rhythmic. every person in this band is underrated. they are true rock and roll, and you will find few that dispute that. sure they went pussy, but hey, gotta stay in it for the dolares. my point, one of the top 5 bands ever to walk the face of the earth, and i'm a southern hick.

And it's the same 5 guys that started the band back in like 1971.

Pioneers of rock n roll who set the stage for the sleaze if the 80's

Influential, hell yes. Ever heard of Guns n' Roses?

Yeah, they've gotten a little soft after 40+ years, that Armageddon song and those vids with Alicia Silverstone and Liv Tyler...but they've made so many great jams and nobody sounds like them.

My personal favorite song is an oldie called, "Nobody's Fault.: That song is pure heavyness. :headbang

Although it's extremely overplayed by classic rock stations, Sweet Emotion always gets cranked to max volume. Wife and I heard it in the car this morning around 8:30 and we probably woke up the neighborhood with it.  :koolaid
