Golf Clubs
« on: January 03, 2016, 03:04:05 pm »
What sticks are in your bag?  I'm looking to pick up some new (used probably) irons since I am starting to play more.  I'm looking at some Ping G2s or G5s.  They are older but some of the last Pings to be made in America.  For what I have read they are very forgiving.

There's really no such thing as a forgiving club. Don't be pulled in by the sales gimmicks. If you suck it's because your swing sucks not because the club isn't forgiving your sucky swing.

I have a set of Ping i3's I've had since High School and I love them. Like anything else, you get what you pay for with irons. If you are just a casual player don't go overboard and overspend on a set of clubs you can't utilize to their fullest ability.

I saw some great condition i3 blades for $135. Only reason I didn't jump on that is they are a few years older than G2s or G5s. I'm not going to go spending crazy, $150 in the used market is what I'm looking at.

On a par 72 course , half of your score is from putting  :police:
The putter is probably the most important club in your bag  :drink

It's also the club used the most at the shortest distance to the hole. Sweet logic, dude!

Are you good enough to be swinging blades? Only blades I have ever liked were Mizuno.

My Irons have changed over the years.   But I will never give up my Ping Persimmons woods.   I hit them long,  and straight.   Last guy on the links these days with actual wooden woods.   Stiff shaft.  Wood.

Chicks dig that.

So Sandtrap in NoCal, you're saying the driver is your most important club because its used from the farthest distance to the hole  :popcorn

Sorry John4Putt, you can't pull me into your stupid logic by accusing me of using it.

Irons is a general statement. There isn't a pro on the tour that doesn't use blades. The alternative are cavity-backed irons.

Is putting more about the stick or the stroke?  I mean a flat surface leaves little room for technology.
it's golf , stroke over stick wins everytime  :police:
Guess you have  never used the Little Bertha Putter . Has a nice sweet spot with a repercussioned shaft and grip  :koolaid
