Trade Deadline
« on: July 16, 2016, 02:50:36 PM »
What are your team's needs? Who are they rumored to be interested in? If your team is selling who are they willing to part with?

Most of the AL contenders badly need starting pitching and most of the NL contenders need bullpen help. Chris Archer and Ervin Santana are possible starters on the move, and if the Yankees actually decide to be sellers there are said to be 8-10 teams interested in Miller or Chapman.

Nationals are said to have serious interest in both Jay Bruce and Andrew Miller but Miller will be costly given the bidding war that will take place if he's put on the market, and several other teams are said to be interested in Bruce.

My Giants need a closer that doesn't fall drunkenly off the mound and balk in the winning run.

Indians definitely need bullpen help. Left handed preferably. Like everyone else, they're looking at Miller & Chapman. Also Will Smith from the Brewers is getting buzz. Also, Lucroy now that Gomes is out 2 months.

Astros should trade Altuve.  He hasn't been the same since:

No. 3 starter would be nice, but I'd be surprised if the Pirates make that trade. I'm thinking they're just going to use the AAA call-ups as players they got in "trade."

Indians got Miller. The best reliever in baseball IMO. Huge help to a sometimes shaky bulllpen. I'd like for them to add a power bat tho. Lucroy wanted a huge contract to come and Tribe couldn't do it. Shame.

Disappointing couple days as a Pirates fan. Not surprised by Melancon getting traded, but am surprised about the return. Trading Niese back to NYM for Antonio Bastardo is basically trading Neil Walker for a reliever they had last season. The worst trade in the moment -- and maybe it'll work down the line -- was getting rid of Reese McGuire and Harold Ramirez, two of their top-10 prospects, plus Liriano for a 25-year-old Drew Hutchison, who I've seen described as a "fringe" fifth starter. Hooray. Maybe they'll pull something off at the waiver deadline. Or maybe they'll be out of the WC race by then.

Liriano gets re-united with Russ Martin.

Hutch is a class act but he's very inconsistent. I hope he does well for ur shitteh team.
