Derek Carr
« on: June 24, 2017, 05:54:57 am »
Highest paid playah in NFL history.

rotf...

I know, I know...

He's just the highest paid in NFL history for now.
Just until the next overpaid slap gets his (whoever it may be) big payday.

I also know most Raiduh fans are high on Carr.
I'm not.
I was a lifelong Raider fan until 2011, btw.
But the Raiders unfortunately died when Al died.

Derek Carr will flame out, imo.
He's fools gold.

Losing record, hasn't won a playoff game, small hands, LOW wonderlic score (he's a bit of a dummy, a simpleton, a boy), mediocre TQBR, mediocre accuracy, mediocre pocket awareness, sub-par ability to improvise with his legs.

This cat is overrated.

He'll win many regular season games, imo, but will let Raider fans down the most right then they are counting on him the most.

Won't be a big game winnah.
Will crap the bed right when you need him to come through for ya.

Calling my shots.

Wait and see.

they gave $25 million a year for an injury prone bag coming off a gruesome leg injury and no playoff wins....fools and their money are easily parted.

Glad they overpaid him because they wont have money for Khalil Mack AND Amari Cooper or anyone else to help 'em out and they still have one of the leagues worst defenses.

YAWN.

Carr will never win them a Super Bowl.

I hated Al Davis.   He destroyed thr Raiders.  His death was the best thing that happened to the franchise.

The Ravens did the same with Joe Flacco a while back and he wasn't that good.  But franchise QBs don't come around often, so teams have to lock them in.

They did draft a lot of defenders, if that defense can play even average the Raiduhs will be damn good. They won all those games last year on offense alone. It would have been great to see how Carr could have done in the playoffs but we will see this year. True that was a horrific injury but he is very young and looks to be at full strength. Should be interesting.

Oakland has one of the best O-Lines in the NFL.

Night and day compared to what David had in Houston.

I was living in Houston during the David Carr years, and that guy got the snot kicked out of him.

Derek also has better physical tools than his brother.

Derek is lacking some important "intangibles," imo.

I see him winning many regular season games, but ultimately disappointing fans by coming up short with his performances when it's really nut-cuttin' time.

Injury prone he has missed one regular season game in 3 years.  That is not injury prone.

Almost all QB deals seem stupid when they are signed.  In 2-3 years this deal won't even be in the top 10 so let's not overreact to it now.

Both valid points, FP.

Derek got hurt bad at the end of last year, but who knows yet if he's really injury prone?
I wouldn't say (now) that he is.
If he gets hurt again next year, then yeah, we could maybe start saying that.

It's sort of true about the contract.
They are always escalating, so at this moment it looks a bit extreme.
But down the road, it takes on a different look.
