Celtics Cavs Trade
« on: August 22, 2017, 08:20:27 pm »
Probably the most even trade in NBA history. I think they both win.

Kyrie for IT4, Crowder, and Brooklyns 1st.

Wow.

As a Celtic fan, they gave up a lot of potential....but that's just it...potential.   That 2018 pick could be huge, or it could be a flop.

I don't like losing the Nets' 2018 first rounder, but at least the Celts don't have to worry about paying IT max money....which was kind of scary.

Will be interesting.

Offensively the trade is a push IT4 & Kyrie cancel each other out & everything that Jae Crowder gives you is a bonus (he can hit the 3).  Defensively, the Cavs win.  Jae Crowder is the guy that could possibly cause KD & Klay some trouble and because he's not in your top 3 options for offense he can put all of his effort on the defensive side.

that Nets pick could be huge because next years draft class could have Michael Porter, Jr. (going to that power house that is Mizzou :lol), Michael Bagley, Jr. (Duke).

The Celtics are returning like 4 guys. It's a complete new team and two two best players are new. It's a stretch to assume they'll be better. They're depth beyond the top 3 is pretty weak.

So is this trade even happening now? Cavs really want that pick and they knew Thomas was injured. Why are they wasting time when they know Boston isnt gonan throw in anything else in the deal.

Cavs need this trade.  The only thing they have going for them after this year is that 2018 Nets 1st rounder.

theres no way this trade won't make it.  Kyrie can't go back to the Cavs @ this point and LBJ probably doesn't want him there....

The Cavs are now asking Boston for Gordon Hayward, Tom Brady and Chris Sale.

Helps start their rebuild when/if Bron leaves next summer, which if he does there wouldn't be a point in keeping Kyrie on the books. Brooklyn's 1st + Crowder + serious cap space next summer made it worth their while regardless of IT's situation.
