Bitcoin
« on: November 27, 2017, 10:49:35 am »
Searched for a thread but it was locked.

Anyone invested in it?  Lots of my co-workers are so I'm looking into it.  Coinbase was the app recommended to me.  Is that what you use if you're into bitcoin?

I got in earlier than most. I believe it was around $1600/btc. It's around $9800/btc now. You should learn about blockchains and how cryptocurrencies work before investing any kind of sizable amount into it.

Coinbase is fine if you don't want to actually play in other crypto markets. I use my bitcoin at bittrex.com

I used coinbase.  It was pretty simple.  I didn't do anything with my bitcoin except sell them WAY TOO EARLY.

I'm not going to make any sizable investment initially.  Just registered on coinbase so I'll throw a couple of hundred and see what happens.

Do you just let yours sit or do you buy and sell regularly?  Have you used bitcoin to make any purchases?

I made a good sized deposit right off the bat and it's paid off great. I did it and let coinbase do the work. Since then I've syphoned a little money from it here and there to deposit into bittrex and invest in other markets.

Tread lightly, a lot of scam companies/currencies out there and it's pretty unregulated. A rule of thumb I've used thus far is never ever use the money you put in as a motive of profit. This is all still in its infancy but I really do think it's the future. Peg your bitcoin value to the dollar, I guess. But you'd be a moron to use it to buy anything materialistic at this point.

Google the first ever bitcoin purchase.
Post the results here.
