The Raiders already allocated a bunch of cap money to Carr but the Bears don't have a player like that. Theyre making a run at it while their QB is still on his cheap rookie deal -recent teams who won with a still-cheap QB are Seattle and Philly, that might become a new strategy for NFL teams seeking a title. Bears are hoping Trubisky and coach Nagy can develop quickly, just like Wentz and Pederson in Philly did. Of course, both Trubisky and Nagy remain unproven as fvck. If the Bears finish 8-8 or better, then those two 1st rounders arent going to be that great of a pick, and they were probably going to use those picks to search for a pass rusher anyway, one that wasnt going to be as good as Mack, who is dominant. You gotta spend your salary cap money on somebody.
Also, Chicago gave a 3rd and 6th in 2020 but got a 2nd and 5th back from Oakland, so they also improved by 1 round twice in the 2020 Draft.
