Picking a new team
« on: November 30, 2018, 05:42:00 pm »
This Cano trade the Mets are making is the last straw for me with the organization.

I am ruling out any team in the AL since I despise the DH and I am not going to be come a Marlins fan, or root for any team in the NL East.

That leaves teams from the Central and West to choose from.

The Cubs and Cards are teams I have a deep hatred for. That also goes for the Giants and Dodgers.

I have to decide between these six teams.

Pirates
Brewers
Reds
Rockies
Padres
Dbacks

I am leaning on 2 teams right now..... The Reds or the Rockies.

It will be a tough decision for me.

Keep in mind.... this will mean the end of Magic Number Threads.....

Hold up. I heard Cano to the Mets, but what are y'all giving up?  Isn't Cano the best player in the deal?

Cano and Diaz for Bruce.. Dom Smith... some other prospects.... but I just dont want Cano.. Hes old and hes a damn cheat. I dont care if we are shedding salaries.. I dont care if the books will be clean in 2 years.

I would be happy with McNeil at 2nd..... but this is just boneheaded beyond belief. We needed a catcher and the Nats got Gomes for nothing.

Nothing they do makes sense. Loyalty is wearing thin with me right now.

The Rockies would give you and snakeeyes something in common.

I'd go with the Brewers.   They seem to be up and coming.

That's how I felt when the bad Astros traded for Tejada, right after getting caught.

Maybe the Mets are making room for Tebow.

I like Yelich, but would seem borderline bandwagoning.... on the other hand they would be going up against the Cubs and Cards.

You're in Florida. Marlins have been in tank mode. Jump on that wagon.

You can hate the old team. They are Miami now, new ownership. They got rid of 2 MVP caliber outfielders :uhh

Aren't they ditching that outfield sculpture thingy too?

Life-long Brewers fan here.

Sorry, but we're full on fans right now.

Maybe the Reds or the Cards can be your team.

Ralphie, you have 2 choices:
1. (Recommended) Stick with the Mets.  You've been a lifelong fan.  Every team goes through years of shit.  I stayed with the Astros despite 3 years in a row of 100 losses and a move to the AL.  It will get better.  They are only a few years removed from the World Series anyways.  They got a Cy Young pitcher.  They can rebuild.
2. Accept that the DH is a thing and follow the Rays.  You live close enough to where you can go to their games.  You can probably tune in to local honks bitching about them on the radio.  They too have a stud pitcher.
