Zion

I'd post this in the bouncy ball forum, but it seems like maybe not a lot of folks will see it there.
Move it if you want to.

So you know the story.

He blew out his shoe and wrenched his knee.
Seems to be a relatively minor injury and he'll be back soon.

Or will he?
Or should he be?

Perhaps you've heard the arguments from those saying he ought to pack it in and wait for the draft.

Something like...

He's shown his stuff.
He's a phenomenal physical talent.
He's likely in line to go #1 overall in the draft.
He's not getting paid (except for the free ride to Duke), and it is peanuts compared to what he's going to get as the top draft pick.
There is just no reason for him to risk injury, and especially in light of what we've just seen.

Wait for the draft -- it is the wise business decision.

So the argument goes.

Your thoughts on this?

it was all part of his masterplan to:
- sit out the rest of the season
- get a sweet deal with new balance

Shut it down.  Stakes are too high.

Ralp was the guy trying to take charges in a pick up game.

I remember a few years back when Kyrie blew his knee out while playing for d00k.  at the time there was little debate that he was done and wouldn't see the court until he was in the NBA.  However, he fooled everyone (prolly Coach K too) and came back and played in the tourney.

Zion will be back.  I think he knows that his team could win it all and that'll prolly have him back on the court.  The question isn't if its when.  I'm thinking he'll certainly want to be back for UNC v d00k II.  They have 4 games left including UNC and the home finale is v Wake Forest (before that its VaTech & Miami).  I'm guessing he'll be back for the W.F. game and beyond.
