That fat slob Ruth would hit only about 300 homers today, because he and the other 1920's players never faced bullpens where almost every dude throws at least 95, plus since pitchers completed about three-quarters of their games,Babe and the boys often faced tired hurlers with less late-inning velocity .( I wonder how many of Ruth's homers came in the seventh, eighth, ninth and extra innings.) Add no speedy black outfielders grabbing potential homeruns, and  VERY FEW players of the 20's could compete in 2019 .

Today players don't ride trains to games, train, don't have off-season jobs, eat properly, bat technology, video of pitchers, scouting reports  blah, blah blah.  The game is different

Greatest moment was when kurt gibson was limping around the bases in the World Series and the Doyers won it all.  :drink

Save the Fielders ,what slob is hitting homers today ? (I know Daniel Vogelbach is listed at six-feet,260,but he isn't a bomber .)

Nope.

2001 Mariners.

Won 59 games by 4 or more runs (record).

Scored more runs than anyone while allowing the fewest runs defensively..
