Last Saturday, former Raiders wideout Cliff Branch was found dead in a Bullhead City,Ariz. hotel room two days after his 71st birthday.( Bullhead City is one of Earth's hottest places, with frequent 120 degrees Fahrenheit temperature readings[Forty-nine degrees Celsius for us Canadian lads and lasses] .) A 5'11" ,170-pound speedster ,Branch nevertheless ventured across the middle where pass catchers were sure to get bombed by DBs who took full (sometimes illegal) advantage of that era's lenient rules re. hitting receivers. I'd like to know why this legendary Raider hasn't received his rightful plaque in the NFL Hall Of Fame .
