Solution to tanking?
« on: January 19, 2020, 09:17:37 am »
I cant be the only one who hates tanking. A lottery isnt the solution and ranking worst to first is even worse. Teams that contend until the very end, coming up short of a playoff spot by a game or a tiebreaker and then ranking them in reverse order could be a solution.

1. Rams
2. Steelers
3. Bears
4. Cowboys
5. Broncos
6. Raiders
7. Colts
8. Falcons
9. Bucs
10. Jets
11. Jags
12. Browns
13. Cards
14. Panthers
15. Chargers
16. Dolphins
17. Giants
18. Lions
19. Skins
20. Bengals

Rank the rest of the teams as the playoffs usually do.

Only problem I see is that the bad teams will be still bad, and have a tough time getting into the playoffs. Is that really a problem?

Also, middle of the pack teams improve faster. You could see more teams that usually coast to a 1st round bye maybe face a Wild Card fight.

This is an interesting topic. I'd like to see more parity in the NFL.

They really need to do away with playing each team in their division 2x a year. They need to rotate home and away games each year and play more out of division games.

This won't solve tanking but I think it will maybe add a little more parity.

So hard to make scheduling changes in the NFL because there's only 16 games obviously.
