Opening Day 2020
« on: February 27, 2020, 03:11:43 am »
We are exactly 4 weeks (28 days) away from Opening Day 2020 and I would like to ask you, the fine folks of this legendary forum, three questions:

1) Will MLB attendance/viewers dip or rise this season as a result of the controversial Houston Astros cheating scandal?

2) Do you agree with MLB cracking down on punishments for anti-Astros actions, such as ready-made ejections for beans, removing signs from fans (and surely eventually removing fans from games), along with any other potential no tolerance rules that might be put in place?

3) What are your predictions for the season? Any surprises in store for us?

Dunno.

I kind of already hate them and they're going to suck this year.

It's fun hating new peeble and things.  :koolaid

I was listening to a radio show yesterday that was prognosticating on the over/under for HBPs on the Astros this year because of payback from the rest of the league.  Should be fun to watch.

the silver lining is that there will be more baserunners
and if they don't hit the batters, maybe they'll be scared to pitch inside for fear of being ejected

1. Attendance will probably stay the same.  I think viewership will increase when the 'Stros are on just because of that cheating thingy.

2. I disagree w/the impending crackdown.  They did the crime so you let "jailhouse" justice prevail. Taking the fans' sign away is a weak move; again let them see how royally they fukt up.

3. The Astros win that "piece of metal" /s/Man Fred

replacing gerritt cole will be tough, but maybe some of the young kids step up.  they lost some good middle relievers too.  last year was their chance to win a non-tainted championship.  just couldn't win a damn home game.
