When Rome is Pre-empted from CBS TV

The CBS simulcast is the worst thing that happened to the show.  >:(

Which crappy counter programming do you like the most?

That Euro Soccer show that recaps all of the boring soccer from the continent.

That Other Euro Soccer show that previews all of the boring soccer for the next week.

International Swimming. Can't tell the dudes from the chicks most of the time. Not worth adding to the Spank Bank.

Professional Bull Riding. I, I - I'm at a loss for words.  :monkey2

I don't want to live in a world where PBR gets better ratings than the Pimp.

European Soccer again. Probably won't be hearing from Brad in Corona today as he will be too busy trying to figure out which/how many of the players are uncircumcised.

You mean to tell me that TV viewers aren't glued to their screens by the boatload at the prospect of hearing a phone call from Kathleen in Omaha?  That European soccer gets more ratings than that?  INCONCEIVABLE!

I am reminded of how Ren and Stimpy blew my mind and then one day the voices sounded a bit different and it wasn't funny anymore, but it was still called Ren and Stimpy.

There is just an inescapable sense that the show is a horribly drab imposter, and that an enormous amount of the audience is disillusioned and has mentally checked out and moved on, but still tunes in a bit out of habit and hope for some return to its former self.

Seems to me all the smackoff dudes have lost their lust for calling, and the show is garbage without good callers and calls.  My speculation is CBS doesn't care for the smackoff or that aspect of the show but what do I know.

Whoa! Great suggestion, Steve! I wonder why I didn't think of that myself. D'oh!!!  :D

When I first started listening to the show some 20+ years ago it was only available on radio so that's where I picked it up. At some point in time the local monkeys dropped the show and I had to switch to listening on-line. This is before CBS. We still don't get the show on local radio, that's why Jeff in Richmond hardly ever calls in anymore thank Buddha.

Listening on-line is OK for the most part but it's just not as convenient than when they went to the simulcast. The graphics and whatnot are fine but what I like the most about it is that I can pause, rewind, record, etc.

I actually don't dislike the internet show that much other than when the connection drops, the ads get repetitive but the same thing happens on TV. The music bumps on the TV are horrendous however, canned Casio keyboard bullstuff. Alvie's bumps are way better.

Guess I'm just complaining to complain. Apparently I'm some kind of Boomer or something anyway.
