Mr. Automatic by 3 Day Weekend

Mr. Automatic was written by Jon Suchon for the Houston pop punk band 3 Day Weekend. The song is a tribute to Jason Stewart ("J-Stew"), the longtime phone screener of the Jim Rome Show.

The track first aired on June 3, 2005. It immediately became a hit among the Clones, with Jim Rome later calling it one of the top ten funniest moments in show history—and one of the greatest songs ever submitted to the program.

The song emerged after the disastrous attempts by callers to finish "Hey Mr. J‑Stew," first sung by Terrence in Sierra Madre during the 2005 Smack-Off. Rome challenged the audience to complete the song; most attempts failed spectacularly. Then 3 Day Weekend submitted a professionally produced, high‑energy version titled "Mr. Automatic", and the rest is Clone legend.

Lyrics – Mr. Automatic

Ya heard about him on the radio,
Been blessed to see him on the TV screen,
Going Down, Murder at the Presidio,
Holy moly, he's the next big thing

So what if Jay Stew, got busted with dudes,
Watching porn in the middle of his dorm room,
It's all behind him, now you can find him,
Rollin' down the red carpet with Lou Diamond,

Friggin' Jay Stew, Fullerton grad,
The best contestant Blind Date's ever had,
He's charismatic, Mr, Automatic,
Commonly referred to as the next Brad Pitt,

Ya heard about him on the radio,
Been blessed to see him on the TV screen,
Going Down, Murder at the Presidio,
Holy moly, he's the next big thing,

If Kobe was Jay Stew, he could've save on the ring,
Hell, dude convinced Ashley that she really could sing,

You make me want to la, la, la, la
You make me want to SCREEEEEEAMMMM!

Friggin' Jay Stew, Fullerton grad,
The best contestant Blind Date's ever had,
He's charismatic, Mr, Automatic,
Commonly referred to as the next Brad Pitt,

(2x) We asked Halle Berry what she thought of Jay Stew,
And she said,
I love a man with moles all over his head,
Yeah, yeah

Jay Stew's a maniac, a friggin' maniac,
Jay Stew's a maniac, a friggin' maniac,
Jay Stew's a maniac, a friggin' maniac,
The face of Hollywood's forever gonna change real soon!
